i was surfing the net and come across this translation of the Surat of Mary in the Quran, i just found it beautiful,

" 16. Relate in the Book (the story of) Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East.

we had a small party in the office this morning, to congratulate the new lucky workers who has now permanent job, i am one of them, in my short work experience (7 years) i had got 5 jobs, my first job was a French teacher in the local high school, it was rather an interesting position although it has nothing to do with my diploma, a Bsc in civil engineering, the most amazing thing was that i taught girls who were merely three years less then me. but as a good Algerian i did not take advantage of the situation, not really for moral reason, but the truth is that i live in a small country side we all know each other, so if you do something wrong, they'll catch you for sure.

anyway the teaching experience lasted just one year, then i worked for three others construction firms, to be short, it was a lost of time, except the meeting with river of paradise ( a female name in Arabic) but this is really another story.

then my last position which is a junior planner in a general contractor, here in the south of Algeria, i don't know why but whatever i told people( specially from north's earth) that i work in the desert, they'll get excited. i think people has a phantasm about desert, sand, sun the never ending places. ok for me it's not , i hate desert , it's boring,it's hot, i get up at 7 AM and it's already 35 °, and the obligation to work for 42 days before going home, which is 600 kms away.

still, i am happy, i have to be, it's a kind of a miracle to have a permanent job, in this country, now, i can take a credit from a bank for buying a car, a house.

her name is fouzia, she is a woman, she has 37 years, she is from Constantine, one of the oldest city of Algeria, she has cancer disease from seven years, she is poor, she has a poor mother, all her revenue is a small wage, the journalist did not write about the father, perhaps he is dead, they live in a small apartment in a crowded building, a crowed city, she has no money to buy drugs, the hospital did not accepted her, they rejected her, her mother tried to sue them, no one care, the justice don't care,the general attorney don't care , neighbors don't care, she is just another ill poor Algerian, they care about other people.

she has a cancer near her neck, he already get all her shoulders, she has worms who eat her body, the mum can't do anything to stop the worms, she has no medicine, she use pesticides to kill them, so they go back to fouzia shoulders, she is so pained that she kick her head against the wall, she cries, she has a lot of tears, she flowed something like a green liquid. when the journalist asked her to show her body, she did not accepted, she is shy, she don't want to be seen naked.

sometimes, the mother come to her room, and found it full of worms, she can't support the scene, she fell down.

i hope, they help her, after the newspapers has published her story. in this country it's hard to be a poor, it is hard to be a woman, it's hard to be sick, but if you are a poor sick woman, you have no luck

a very deceiving independence day

yes i am deceived and angry, not sad, her father told mine, no, i don't know the view of the girl, I don't know what she thinks about me, she is always in her home, as it is summer, i don't know if she knew another guy, or even if she need to know me more to decide. or if she wants to continue her post-graduation studies.

i just spoke to her one time, a three months ago for just five minutes, it was the first time i saw her, what's was a crazy scene, i told her that I'll ask for her hand( i am not sure if it's correct in English), and if she was interested, she told me, i should see her father and i don't try to speak to her again,she is a good girl, she cares about her reputation, she don't risk to be seen by her relatives speaking to a stranger, the university where she studies is near my town, so all students know each others , it was my first “dates” with her, perhaps the last, but it was enough for me ( apparently it was not the case for her)to feel that something good can be reached between us.

i suppose, people with others cultural background, just say, what the hell with those guys who want to engage without knowing their partners, but unfortunately it is just like that, i live in a country side, people are very conservative, girls don't walk in the street, it is not granted at all to “access” them, you can't simply go to her and say “ i need to talk to you”,

our theory is that, if the girl is from a good family, and if the people who study with her, the neighbors,your mum which know her mum, told you, she is a good one, then you don't need to know her personally, love come after the marriage, perhaps it sounds weird for you, but it works, Ok not all the time, but statically speaking, the divorce in the case of this traditional way is very low.

i think basically it was my fault, i was in a hurry, i have perhaps “the near 30 years syndrome”, in my country the average age of marriage for men is thirty, so when we approach that limits, we become like mad, searching for the sweetheart that will spend the rest of life together. and most of the time, in lieu, of searching for love, we end as seeking only the marriage.

and about the title, yesterday the fifth of July was our independence day, 45 years ago we got our freedom, from the French occupation. but with the social situation we have, people here don't care about this day, it is just another boring day.

why i love opensuse and eh hate free project management software !!!

ok it has been a lot of time since my last blog, but actually my Linux experience has evolved, in a forum i was moaning about how it is difficult to install software on Linux without an Internet connexion, then a guy give me an indication, perhaps it is the best information i got form an Internet forum, just use opensuse, it simply rocks, definitively those Germans are smart people !!!!! i am downloading all the time new packages without the pitfalls of all those stupid dependencies, they made a simple solution yet very user friendly, all software are organized by distribution and processor architecture, so just grab them, then download them, copy to flash disk and have fun, so if you have opensuse 10.2 and you want software foo, it is so easy just go to software.opensuse.org/foo/10.2/i586/ and there is even a search facilities, so you are sure to not miss anything.

as a result, i have now in my computer all the very last version of my preferred applications, although kde4 alpha don't want to start ( keeping telling me, something is wrong with kdeinit4)

actually i am not the guy who wants always the last software even in alpha phase, i wanted to check the progress made to Kplato, which is by the way the only libre software that can be sometimes in future( ok with a lot of manpower) a serious project management tool( ok i have also planner and taskjuggler, but honestly guy how to manage a project in CLI). but i am sad to see that right now, it lacks a lot of basic features, like the ability to assign the budget quantity( either per day or the total) of a resources to a task, but what to say this a free software done by developers for free, so i can't tell them what they have to do.

Even worst, still wine( an MS windows emulator) don't support P3 or P5, so i have to keep my windows partition.

Dans les journée ordinaires, on est très célèbre pour notre manque de productivité, or au ramadhan, on ne travail pratiquement pas. J’en profite pour écrire un peu.
Je viens de dépassée mes vingt huit ans, l’age commence à nous rattraper, ma mère n’arrête pas de m’harceler pour se marier, en plus dans notre système de pensé pour faire l’amour il faut être automatiquement marié, ça devient de plus en plus difficile de supporter ce mode de vie sans présence féminine. Maintenant pour choisir sa femme c’est un vrai parcours de combattant, j’ai toujours cru dans le coude de foudre, j’ai imaginé que seulement l’hasard nous permet de rencontrer l’âme sœur, mais après plusieurs histoires tristes, malheureusement je commence à croire que dans notre contexte socio-économique, la meilleur solution est d’être rationnel, il faut choisir avec recul et logique, selon vos critères, je dois signaler que ça peut vous paraître tellement impersonnel, froid comme raisonnement.

Je crois que le mariage dans notre société est devenu un acte social plus qu’un acte d’amour et de passion. Mais doit-je me plaindre, non loin de ça, il se trouve (statistiquement parlant) que ce mariage marche mieux que celui d’amour, parce qu’il est bâti sur la logique la réalité et le bon sens, or celui d’amour c’est les sentiments, l’espoir et l’illusion.

D’ailleurs la plupart des cas de divorce sont due à des considérations économiques, plus qu’une histoire de compatibilité d’humeur.

Une journée ordinaire au RAMADHAN

Enfin les travaux de l’autoroute s’emble commencé, pleine de nouvelle possibilité s’offre au ingénieurs de génie civil locaux, au moins pour la partie est, ou les japonais ont décroché le marché, j’ai lu hier qu’il y aura 30 000 poste d’emploi direct dont 70 % nationaux, pas mal surtout en comparant avec les lot centre et ouest avec les chinois, la il vont tous importé du chef de projet au simple manœuvre.

Sur un autre front ; linux sur le bureau de travail progresse lentement mais dans la bonne voie, INTEL a ouvert le code source des pilotes de ses chipset graphique, Nvidea et ATI sans allez jusqu'à ouvrir leur code, néanmoins ils maintient la mise à jours de leur pilotes. Gnome 2.16 est sortie ça fait presque un mois et KDE 3.5.5 est attendu à n’importe quel moment. Mais il ne faut pas oublié que les dernières statistiques montrent que le part de marché de linux est estimé à 0.36 % au poste de travail.

Mais les choses les plus intéressante reste à venir, KDE4 commence a prendre forme, et sa nouvelle architecture est très moderne et surtout multi plateforme avec l’introduction de PHONON et SOLID , le premier une nouvelle API qui sert d’intermédiaire entre les logiciels multimédia comme amarok et les logiciel de décodage comme Xine-lib et Gstreamer,

Et la nouveauté la plus excitante de cette année pour moi est belle et bien la PS3, je dois avouer c’est un petit bijou, l’interface à la PSP est très ergonomique et le fait de pouvoir surfer sur internent, voir des film écouté de la music avec une manette sans fille est une nouvelle expérience utilisateur, je crois que SONY va créer la prochaine plateforme informatique domestique. Seul ombre au tableau aucun mot sur Linux. De toute façon il ne reste seulement qu’un mois et on sera.

Primavera P3

Ça fait presque un mois que je travail, ma famille me manque vraiment, d’ailleurs après trois ans de déplacement je n’arrive toujours pas à m’adapté à ce rythme de travail.

Depuis deux ans notre boite s’est engagé à implanter l’utilisation d’un logiciel de planification en l’occurrence PRIMAVERA PROJECT PLANNER, pour les intimes P3, cette année j’ai eu la chance d’être sélectionnée pour passée une formation à ce logiciel, c’est la plus belle chose qui m’étai arrivé cette année, le fait de passée un mois dans un hôtel à coté de la plage est vraiment presque un rêve pour un type qui travaille dans le sud ( la température ici peu atteindre les 45 degrés facilement).

Pour P3, c’est un outil très puissant pour planifier des projets, mais la documentation manque terriblement,

after bloging so much about my bad experience with the last kubuntu release, I must admit now all my previous problems was the consequence of using the AMD64 architecture,

I installed kubuntu dapper x86 version two days ago, as you know the installation process of modern distribution is becoming really flawlessly, then you have to download and install the flowing package, libmad for MP3 support, libdvdcss to read legal bought DVD, and w32codec to read proprietary multimedia format (wmv and wma), I have to say the linux desktop has really evolved into a real alternative to Windows.

what really impressed me, is the applications that just work, I installed the fellowing applications skype, firefox, opera, picassa, real player, actually not all those software I real need, but to prove to my brother that Linux has some support of third party ISV.

so IMHO, all we need is more applications, next step for me, figure out how to make Wine works. I really hope my favorite application Primavera Project Planner is compatible, I know there are a lot of FOSS alternative but we used it in my job.

one week to setup kubuntu6.06, and two weeks to install Firefox in my AMD64 architecture, hello to the LINUX camp !!!

my nearest place to access Internet is three kilometers away from home, first it takes me a time to get the address of repositories of Ubuntu archive,I know it is given in the Adapt program but I am a newbie.

the first package you absolutely have to download is xine-extracodec, to play MP3 files and VCD, but before that you have to download a package called libMad, you can't imagine how it's deceiving to have dependency problem when trying to install a program, and having to wait until the next day to get the missing package. by the way an hour of Internet access cost 1 €, and the average salary here is 100 €.

with all the respect to konqueror web browser but I have to say that many web pages can not render it correctly, I decided to download Firefox, here came the real fun !!!

after downloading the package, and unpacking it, and with my Windows habit, I tried simply to run it from console, as there is no link in my Kmenu, surprise, there is ligtk-x!!!!! missing, what, my GOD, it is a GTK stuff, there is no native support of GTK app in KUBUNTU6.06 AMD64, so how openoffice works, I don't know I am already a newbie.

I googled Firefox Ubuntu amd64, and I found a thread in a forum explain the processes to run Firefox in AMD64, first you have to download three package ia32-libs ia32-libs-gtk and linux32, to support 32 bit application and gtk based applications, and then to write two files and make one executable by a strange command, chmod +x, then pray , perhaps it will work!! anyway Firefox actually almost works, it has an integration problem with KDE, you have to load manually the HTML files.

so it costs me 5 €, and two weeks just to install Firefox, fortunately real player works flawlessly after that. still I can't read WMV and WMV, I have W32CODEC but making them works in AMD64 environment is another tough job.

so KUBUNTU6.06 AMD64 has no support of 32bit applications and worst no GTK based programs, here I am speaking about out of the box support, I can understand that for MP3, but downloading gtk-libs is a shame!!! specially after speaking all the time about standardization and compatibility between GNOME and KDE, and LSB effort.

so for people like me without home Internet access and living in emerging market ( I am kidding we are an underdeveloped country although we have 30 billion $ income each year ), don't bother yourself trying Linux, unless you want bankruptcy, or you are computer technology whore.

I would like to thank all the people who make KDE what it is today, it's a great job men !

I am a fanatic Linux fan and especially KDE, I read all the time, web content related to KDE development, specially planetkde, actually I did not understand all the blog entry( it is a geeky planet) but it's always a fun to hear about ASEIGO neighbor problems ;) and why rich man like to build high wall !!!

Recently I installed kubuntu 6.06, I was so happy to see how much KDE is becoming an enterprise class GUI, even my 12 years brother begin to use it naturally, ( well, I have changed the mouse setup to double click before) of course not all thinks are so perfect, sometimes application crash without obvious reason, and worst I can't figure out how to change the default view of Konqueror ( I like to view folders in detail list) but guess what is my killer feature in KDE 3.5.2 !!

It's the ability to lock the panel, so thanks you aseigo !! I can change the configuration of kde to make it look as I like ( actually is a copy of AQUA) and then lock the panel ( a small feature can have a great impact on newbie like me;)

so please take all your time to made the transition to KDE4, because IMHO KDE3.5 is a great product right now, all we need is more polishing, bug fixes and code optimization. I hope to see some day KDE3.5.9

I think what we really miss in Linux desktop today is more applications, it's all about APPLICATIONS, perhaps Google earth is a good example to show to ISV, I wish it is the beginning !!

Quelle surprise juste après avoir posté mon message, je rentre chez moi, je ressayé le live CD et ça marche parfaitement, il se trouve qu'il utilise ma partition swap du mandrake10.1, je vous rappel, j'ai 256 MG, tant mieux l'essentiel qu'il marche.

Première surprise, il a reconnu tous le matériel, pour le boot j'était obligé de changer manuellement le fichier menu.list pour rendre le démarrage de Windows XP par défaut (le PC est utilisé par toute ma famille;)

La mauvaise surprise est que l'architecture AMD64 n'est pas rétro compatible avec le X86, donc tous me package deb téléchargés ne sert à rien !!!!!!!!!!! D'autant plus que libdvdcss et W32codec ne sont pas disponible pour le moment!!!

Donc pas de vidéo ni de musique, et dans Kaffeine; j'ai tous essayé, mais le son ne marche pas pour mon VCD de X-MEN 3,

ça ne marche pas

d'abord j'ai pu faire le pas, et me débarasser de mon ancient PC, aprés sept ans de loyals service( je ne sais plus combien de fois il est tombé en panne)

maintenant j'ai un ordinateur assez récent pour installer LINUX, enfin je l'ai installez deja installez pas mal de fois mais toujours dans les PC de l'entreprise ( en cachette bien sur) mais chez moi ça sera la premeiere fois, mon ancient PC avec ses 32 MG de RAM et la chipset graphique SIS intégré n'était pas assez puisant pour lancer le serveur X, et comme je suis un utilisateur moyen, les ligne de commande ne m'excite pas vraiment.

( je tient a signaler que Windows98 marche parfaitement, j'ai même pu terminer DOOM I et II sans oublier l'incontournable DUKE NUKEM 3D)

donc aprés tant de sacrifice j'ai pu me taper un PC haut de gamme relativement à notre marché, un PIV 630 avec 2MG de cache 256 MG de RAM et une chipset 945G le tous avec un DD de 80 Go, ooops pour l'équivalent de 500 €

j'ai décidé d'installer linux comme dual boot dans une partition de 20 Go, le reste suffit largement pour Windows XP avec toutes les application et les jeux ( surtout pour mon petit frére, c'est un vrai hard core gamer il a pu terminer serious sam II en quatre jours)

Dans un concours de circonstance heureux pour moi une fois n'est pas cotume, on m'a appler pour faire un stage dans notre direction général qui se trouve au capital, eux ils ont une connexion ADSL, j'ai pu convaince l'informaticienne qui travail là-bas de me télécharger KUBUNTU dapper AMD64 ( j'ai un PIV 630;), vous ne pouver pas imaginer commbien j'était heureux d'autant plus j'ai pu acheter FEAR et TOMB RAIDER LEGEND ( je sais d'avance mon PC n'est pas assez costaud pour FEAR mais juste pour imprésionné mes copains en plus la couverture du DVD est superbe;)

je savais que dapper a des probléme avec CUPS et les carte à base de ATI,comme je n'ai ni imprimante ni une RADEON je ne me senté pas concerné, mais je n'ai jamais pu imaginer que cette version destiné pour une utilisation en entreprise avec un support allongé soit si médiocre que ça avec plein de bogue!!!!!!

une fois rentré chez moi, j'était tellement excite d'utilisé enfin KDE 3.5.2 ( j'ai tellement fantasmé sur les copies d'écran de shots.osdir.com, je sais je suis un peu maniaque)

je boot le CD le logo de kubuntu apparait je lance la vérification de CD Dieu merçi, il est intact, je reboot, je lance kubuntu il me prend 30 minute pour se stabilisé( précision le lecteur DVD est tous le temps en activité) il est lourd, trôp même, je lance INSTALLER rien!!! aprés presque 5 minute DCOPSERVER IS NOT RUNNING, j'essaye tous, rien il refuse de s'installer.

je ne trouve pas les mots pour décrire mà déception, c'est la premier fois qu'un live cd refuse de marché, j'ai déja essayer DSL, PUPPY, Lindows ( j'ai une ancienne version), j'ai même installer ubuntu 5.04 ( livré gracieusement par SHIPIT) ( ma première distribution est RH5.1 d'ailleurs je l'a garde toujours;)

j'aurai du télécharger l'INSTALL CD, mais je crois que le moins qu'on puisse dire que c'est incompréhensible de sortir un produit si immature et de prétendre d'étre la meilleur distribution du marché, dommage

je suis sous mandrake 10.1 mais sous le kernel 2.4 parceque le noyau 2.6 refuse de booter( il ne trouve pas de pilote SCSI pourtant j'utilise l'IDE ( le monde à l'envers),ma carte son n'est pas reconnu et j'utilise VESA comme serveur X, dommage que j'ai prété mon ancien ubuntu 5.04. le cauchemar continue.

First, I should prevent you, english is not my mother tongue, so I am trying hard to explain clearly my humble thought about how wonderful the Open source is becoming,

As I am a regular reader of planetkde.org, I was pleased to read an article about promoting strategy of KDE (broad vs. niche ), although I did not understand a lot of it due to my poor skills of english language, I have to say that there is a great opportunity for open source in general and KDE in particular( I have nothing against GNOME but I can't love his look;) in the emerging market,

In my country, recently our government start to promote an initiative to give access for a computer to each family, so every one can buy a computer with a help of a bank facilities. we were all happy of course, but guess MICROSOFT is an early partner, but as expected after the initial lunch no real success ( I know we can't make a judgement after only few moths). Among the reasons ( which indeed are many ;) The machines are expensive due particularly to the Microsoft Tax, we should paid the license of Windows XP for the equivalent of 100 €, which is 30% of the price of a typical model( to get an idea, the salary of a secondary school teacher is 130 €), and as we don't know the meaning of intellectual proprieties, leaked CD are every where, you can buy any software for 0,7 €. worst than that the box sold in the local market are tax free by all means( don't be so astonished ! Sellers don't use invoices, which is a strange concept for them;)

Seems like a complex situation for our government, so what ? selling computers with leaked software to drop the cost and making them compelling against black market. Of course not !! specially we are trying hardly to be an WTO member!

I am sure you know the right solution like me, it's simply; free software, hopefully there are still some smart people in my country, one of them a small software service company, representative of Novell, they made a good job of advocating Linux as a the perfect solution- recently a senior responsible of Novell was here to promote NLD- after that, many people; journalist, even our ministry of IT begin to speak about free software, and hopefully many of the new machines will shortly be shipped with Linux.

It is definitely easier to wide spread Linux in the third world than in the developed countries because :

the cost is the most important factor for us, and Linux is very competitive in this arena ;)

Users don't even know what is an operating system, so they will not be confused in using (new) DE like KDE as it is the first time , they start to learn so keeping thing simple and logical is a right way to go.

Users don't have a computer background experience, so all the disadvantage of Linux like the support of third party software and hardware is less important, we have OpenOffice and Fire fox, sexy multimedia player like amaroK , which are enough stuff for the most users.

I know many people, will install a leaked copy of Windows after buying the cheap machine but anyway I am so happy that a lot of my citizens will use Linux in their home. Which was by all mean an unbelievable idea a short time before.

So please keep it simple, stuff like klik, plasma, gstreamer, Wine (I mean the software;), ideas of usability, ease of use, compatibility between different Distro, hardware requirement( I learned that (K)ubuntu 6,04 will support 32 megabit system) are a hot concern for the success of Desktop Linux specially in emerging market( actually I prefer third world as we are a stagnant market), IT industry made a bad decision thirteen years ago in the developed countries, so it is the best time to make the good one for the developing countries.

Update: today I read in a local newspaper that according to Robert Holleyman from BSA, 83 % of software used in Algeria are leaked.

hier, c'était le plus belle journée de ma vie( bien sur après la joie d'avoir eu mon bac). enfin après 5 ans d'attente je suis libre des engagements de service militaire, quelle soulagement, ma mère ma dit que je n'ai plus de prétexe pour ne pas se marier!! peut être elle a raison, je ne sais pas disant que je suis a la recherche d'une fille, mais ça c'est un autre sujét.

linux au monde réel

Je vous écrit mon expérience avec linux, c'est en surfant sur le net en 97 que je l'ai découvert, REDHAT c'était en version 4 si j me rappelle bien, et c'était le coude de foudre;un système d'exploitation totalement libre, ouvert, et encore conçu initialement par un étudiant, je me rappelle que j'ai attendu une année pour pouvoir procuré le Cd-rom, et maintenant l'installation; ma carte graphique n'était pas reconnu, pas de problème je me contenté du terminal, j'aimerai seulement signalé; que je l'utilisais seulement par curiosité, mes deux logiciels de CAD; AUTOCAD et PISTE( conception routière) sont disponible seulement sous Windows, vous allez me dire qu'il y a WINE, malheureusement mes compétence en informatique sont limités je n'arrive pas a le configuré, certes il y a actuellement VMWARE mais c'est un truc commerciale qui n'est pas disponible chez nous ( Algérie), après une longue traversé de désert ( j'ai travaillé dans la construction des routes, dans le terrain, l'informatique n'est plus essentielle) et aujourd'hui je suis un ingénieur dans un bureau d'étude c'est vraiment cool, il y a des dizaine de micro relié par un LAN.

L'expérience de linux me tente toujours, le cybercafé du cartier a une liaison SVAT, il a téléchargé MANDRAKE10.1, et quelle bonheur j'ai pu l'installé en demi heure tous est reconnus automatique il faut dire que il y a une révolution par rapport a la première distribution, mais malheureusement me chère linuxiens, avec l'age on deviens plus mature et plus exigent et les conviction philosophiques ne tient pas devant la productivité, d'ailleurs la notion de l'open source s'est banalisé, même SOLARIS est devenu open source, on murmure que Windows peut devenir libre- bien sûr façon Microsoft- et toujours le même problème mes deux programmes ne marche pas toujours pas sous linux, -Autodesk n'envisage pas de porté Autocad vers linux avant qu'il y a une base installé assez importante pour rentabilisé l'investissement- pire encore linux est bien sur est open source mais malheureusement il n'est pas open standard.

Je m'explique; a part le noyau linux, les outils système GNU et XWINDOW, le reste du système d'exploitation est conçu selon l'éditeur de la distribution, il y a de gens qui aime gnome, il y a d'autre qui haie KDE en dépit de sa supériorité pour ses liens avec TROLLTECH, on raconte que des gens l'adore parc que c'est un projet européen (moi je suis pour rien j'ai entendu ça je le jure;) qui sont en plus incompatible parc que tous simplement, ils utilises deux bibliothèques différentes GTK et QT; l'éventualité d'un GUI unifié est presque impossible, c'est comme écrire un roman en utilisant le russe et l'allemand( je reprend les propos d'un gars de SUSE qui est devenu NOVELL entre temps), sans cité bien sur les autres bibliothèque hérité du monde UNIX largement utilisé pour une histoire de compatibilité, hier j'ai pu installer acrobate Reader5, après avoir passé une nuit blanche a lire les pages MAN de TAR , pour pouvoir enfin décompressé le fichier, et un mystérieux message de l'installation me dit que le programme ED n'est pas disponible, j'ai passé une deuxième nuit blanche pour le décrypter, et quelle soulagement ED est un petit éditeur genre VI mais pourquoi il n'as pas été installé par défaut! Puisque il est si important que ça. Bon si pas grave heureusement que je n'ai pas tombé sur un problème de dependencie. Pour l’amour de dieu je ne veux pas entamer la discussions sur les multiples format de paquetage rpm( fedora, suse, mandrake) deb( debian, linspire , Xandrose…) le système de fichier( je veux dire par la l’organisations des répertoires) et tant d’autres aspect du système d’exploitation qui se divergent suivant le goût de l’éditeur de la distribution.

Actuellement LINUX est acteur un incontournable dans le domaine de serveur,
Les gens dans ce segment de marché sont des gourou, la facilité et leur dernier souci ce qui compte pour eux c’est la fiabilité et la Linux est un champion incontesté, et avec le soutient du IBM, HP et SUN ( je n'arrive pas a comprendre leur stratégie, bon openoffice c'est leur travaille) Linux va certainement surpassé le meilleur d’UNIX dans si peu de temps( je n’ose même pas le comparé avec Windows, mais attention, avec la stratégie .NET Microsoft peut ravager le terrain).
Honnêtement est ce que vraiment vous croyez que Linux est prêt pour le grand publics ? a mon avis NON, vous allez dire vous êtes qui pour juger, et ben je suis un simple utilisateur, mon PC est mon gain pain, ce qui m’intéresse est d’avoir mes logiciels préférés marchent le plus facilement possible, j’aime les jeux les encyclopédies, je cherche le plus value du logiciel pas la technologie en elle même. Et le paysage du marché Desktop Linux me laisse perplexe, même pessimiste, ce n’est pas dans la divergence que Linux va s’imposé dans le PC, je songe a un monde meilleur ou on aura un seul interface utilisateur avec du vrai anti-aliasing, tous les logiciels avec une unique format de paquetage, bref une compatibilité absolue entre les différentes distributions au moins pour le poste de travail, et je crois que ce n’est pas impossible, voyants l’exemple du MACOSX c’est un modèle a suivre. Pour y parvenir, on a trois scénario ; soit la situation reste tel qui l’est ; l’histoire d’UNIX va se répéter, soit un seule éditeur monopolise le marché et devint un standard de facto et c’est très probable dans l’univers GPL, soit ce que je souhaite les acteurs du marché s’entend sur un standard genre LSB. Mais rien n’est sûr. Microsoft a des bon jours devant elle.
